Founded in 1801, Bristol Uniforms has been designing and manufacturing industrial clothing for over 200 years and was the first UK manufacturer to develop specially designed protective clothing for firefighters in the early 1960s.
For over 40 years the Company has concentrated on the design and further development of firefighter clothing becoming the leading specialist in its field.
Working closely with the world's recognised leading suppliers of specialist performance fabrics, including W L Gore and Associates, DuPont de Nemours International SA, Celanese (Pbi) and 3M, Bristol Uniforms is committed to a programme of continuous product development with the twin aims of providing firefighters with the greatest level of personal safety and wearer comfort.
The company's leading brands have become household names within the international world of firefighting and include Wessex, Classic, Jaguar and Ergotech™ and Ergotech Action™.
As well as supplying fire coats and trousers for conventional firefighting, Bristol Uniforms also manufactures specialist Marine Suits and Aluminised Suits used in close proximity firefighting situations (both Mariners Wheel approved and to EN531), wildland firefighting garments based on the lightweight Ergotech™ design and urban search and rescue (USAR) PPE for use in road traffic collisions (RTC) and by search and rescue teams looking for the trapped and injured following building collapse. The company also designs and manufactures coats and trousers to meet the special needs of the North American market (NFPA).
