In particular, the system is based around the unique barcoding of each separate item of PPE allowing each garment to be linked directly to its wearer by name, ID number as well as location and original issue date. This allows for the comprehensive tracking of garments throughout their operational lifetime, garment condition coding and ensures that status reports are comprehensive.
